What are the visa requirements for travelling to Canada?
Hi. My conditional green card has expired last March 07, 2009. I have applied to USCIS for removal of the conditions (renewal) 3 months before it expires. I receive a letter from USCIS stating that my card is extended for another year while they are processing my case. My case is still pending. So what I have with me right now is a valid Philippine passport, a expired (physical) green card and an official letter from USCIS that extends my card for another year. We will cruise to Alaska next month and there is a stop to Canada and I want to go. Do I need to do anything? Someone told me that I have to visit the nearest immigration office and have my passport stamped? Is that true? Please help. Thank you very much.
Green card holders do not need a visa to visit Canada. Never heard any such thing about your passport. All you need to re-enter the U>S. is your green card and that letter.
