Alaska cruise?
My family and I are considering going on a cruise in Alaska. You do not know what is the best time to go (low season without discount etc, busy) also do not know what Cruise Line to go with. It would be my husband and I and our two teenage sons. HELP!?!
My husband and I were the week ending on Labor Day last year – Holland America Staatendam Vancouver to Seward visiting Ketchikan, Juneau, Icy Strait Point, Sitka, and Hubbard Glacier made. There really is not an Alaska season – May and September are more than one season shoulder. We Denali after the first week of September and was closed for the winter now. However, the weather was (rained in Ketchikan, but still raining in Ketchikan!). I think all the major cruise lines in a corridor inside a kind of tour, and I recommend it if you take a cruise in Alaska. We found the weather in late August a good balance between the cost (which was cheaper than at the beginning season) and time (it was hot.) We also had a lot of spawning salmon – In fact, Juneau saw all the bright colors and dying. Holland America has been great, but more for adults. I think a line Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean are best for children. My daughter loves the carnival, but not so funny for adults in our family, prefer the breast of big hairy band contest. However, Holland America had a naturalist on board the cruise together, which makes a difference us. I do not know if the other mass market lines do. But looking a bit ports. For a cruise of this route is probably the most important the cruise line. I loved our trip to Alaska, and I recommend it highly. Hope this helps
